Molecularly-Annotated Connectome

 The MAC is a new approach to brain mapping that combines gene expression with connectivity to provide an unprecedented view of brain organization. By combining optical barcoding techniques with new superresolution microscopy techniques, we are able to map the synapses of individual neurons throughout the entire brain.
